Joe Schmit is an award-winning broadcaster, author, community leader, and keynote speaker known for inspiring individuals and organizations to make a meaningful impact every day. A 2019 inductee into the Minnesota Speakers Hall of Fame, Joe also holds the prestigious CSP® (Certified Speaking Professional) designation from the National Speakers Association.
Over his distinguished broadcasting career, Joe earned 19 Emmy Awards from the National Television Academy and was honored with the Silver Circle Award in 2020 for his extraordinary contributions to the industry. He also received a National Headliner Award in 2001.
Joe is the author of the award-winning books Silent Impact and The Impact Blueprint. His message—centered on purpose, persistence, and positive influence—has made him a sought-after speaker for organizations looking to strengthen culture, connection, and performance.
Most recently, Joe partnered with Minnesota Twins legend and Baseball Hall of Famer Joe Mauer on the bestselling children’s book The Right Thing To Do. All proceeds support children’s charities, with more than 800 elementary schools receiving donated copies. The story has been adapted into a musical production at Stages Theatre Company in Hopkins, Minnesota,
Beyond his professional work, Joe is deeply committed to giving back. He has served as a longtime youth mentor and past president and board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities, and currently serves on the board of the Action Foundation.
