TIMMY BRITT - BIOGRAPHY

Timmy Britt is an Executive Art Director, an artist, teacher, and speaker, and the head of Timmy Britt Studios. He is perhaps best known for his former roles as a Disney animation artist and Imagineer.

His 30+ years experience in the art industry date began when he started marketing his work in order to finance his studies in art and engineering. The original animated characters he designed for companies such as Wings to Go and Pets Plus launched him as a free-lance artist. He eventually completed more than 500 indoor and outdoor murals for clients along the East Coast.

After doing animation and set design for NFL Films, Timmy moved to Orlando to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a Disney artist. His energy, enthusiasm, optimism, and humor — combined with an engaging teaching style and instant rapport with guests — made him something of an overnight celebrity at the Animation Academy at MGM/Hollywood Studios.

During his years as a cast member, Timmy’s passion for creating Disney magic earned him three coveted Spirit of Disney awards, plus an unprecedented seventy Applause-o-Grams and sixty-eight Guest Service Fanatic awards. (More info here.)

In his later career transition to Art Director and Disney Imagineer, Timmy’s mastery of creative mediums and clear, articulate instruction earned him a solid reputation as a world-class scenic artist, art director, and team builder in the field of fully-immersive family entertainment.

For nearly a decade, he contracted to both Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, playing key roles in the development and construction of such top attractions as:

• The Streets of Agrabah

Timmy’s greatest passion is teaching, training, and encouraging teams of young artists while helping them prepare for exciting careers in the art world. To date, he has trained more than 50 students, many of whom have gone on to become successful artists and art directors in their own right. Today, Timmy has expanded his teaching to include workshops, classes, private lessons, mentoring, and speaking engagements through Timmy Britt in Plano and Frisco, Texas.
