Stephane's Programs

Your People Are Not Your Greatest Asset. They Are Your Greatest Competitive Advantage.

Construction doesn't have an awareness problem.

The industry knows workers are struggling. It knows mental health, substance use and suicide demand attention. Significant investments have been made in awareness campaigns, professional resources, crisis services and suicide prevention.

All of these matter.

But we cannot crisis-intervene our way out of this problem.

Most struggles don't begin as crises. They begin quietly, long before someone reaches for professional help. And very often, the first people to notice are not clinicians or counsellors. They are the people working beside us.

What if we've underestimated their potential?

Drawing on more than 25 years leading workplace mental health and peer support transformation, his own lived experience, and four decades of leadership in some of the world's most demanding environments, Stéphane Grenier challenges construction leaders to reconsider one of the industry's greatest untapped resources: its people.

Not everyone needs to become a counsellor or peer supporter. In fact, less can sometimes be more. The opportunity is to give people the right skills, in the right dosage, at the right time: simple, pragmatic ways to notice, lean in and have meaningful conversations earlier; trained peer support when more is needed; and professional and crisis intervention when circumstances demand it.

This is not about replacing professional care. It is about building the human capacity that surrounds it.

Through powerful stories, evidence and practical examples, Stéphane challenges the industry to move beyond disconnected programs and referral cultures toward workplaces where human support becomes part of how people work together.

Because in an industry built by people, the greatest untapped mental health resource may already be standing beside us on the jobsite.
