Julie Brand, CADC-II, ICADC is an international certified alcohol and drug counselor, interventionist and recovery specialist with an extensive background in behavioral health. She is an expert in her field, driven by her inherent need to help others. She is an amazing storyteller, presenter and motivational speaker who uses her life experiences, education and expertise to motivate, inspire and empower others. With over 25+ years of experience, she has treated, counseled and educated thousands of men, women and youth suffering from substance abuse disorder, depression, suicide and the underlying root causes; family history of addiction, mental illness, family violence and adverse childhood experiences. Ms. Brand is a goal oriented visionary leader, who strives for new heights and graciously takes others with her.

In 2012 Ms. Brand opened the doors to a private residential treatment facility for those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. As founder and executive director, she learned firsthand what it meant to be a lone businesswoman in a corporate world. She worked hard and tirelessly determined to become one of the best rehabs in Northern California which meant she would have to achieve what most said was impossible, accreditation by The Joint Commission, the golden seal, the highest standard in health care. She achieved the golden seal of approval by the Joint Commission in 2020, but she didn’t stop there she had to reach her final goal, a lucrative contract with Kaiser Permanente which she achieved in 2022.

Today she has new visions and new goals. Today she is using her voice and her amazing story to raise awareness of the behavioral health issues that are plaguing society today. Her goal is to motivate, inspire and empower others to become agents of change, to break through the stigma of addiction, suicide, mental health and childhood trauma. She is a survivor who speaks from the heart; speaks with conviction, passion and experience. Fueled with compassion, empathy and a dash of humor she boldly goes where no one else will, shedding light on the darkest hours. An advocate for change, she is a force to be reckoned with.

Julie Brand is a writer, poet, and the author of the series “In the Eyes of Innocence.” She is also a professional jazz vocalist, song writer and inspirational speaker.
