jack wilson - Biography

How running 240 miles taught me to build unbreakable teams and unstoppable companies.

Over the course of more than two decades in business, Jack built and scaled companies in highly competitive markets, helping lead
six successful exits including one IPO. His career placed him in environments where leadership, discipline, and clear decision-making were required every day. In those settings, success was rarely determined by talent alone. It was determined by preparation.

At the same time, Jack pursued endurance sport at the highest level. He began running as a child, completed his first marathon at sixteen, and later competed in the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials. Over the years he completed ten Ironman triathlons and numerous ultramarathons. Most recently, Jack finished the Moab 240 — a 240-mile race through the Utah desert that pushes athletes to the edge of their physical and mental limits.

The lessons from these two worlds could not be more aligned. Whether leading a company or running through the desert in the middle of the night, the same truth emerges again and again. Pressure does not build strength. It reveals preparation.

Today Jack speaks to leaders, teams, and organizations about how preparation, discipline, and intentional action determine performance when the stakes are high. His message challenges audiences to rethink how they spend their time and how they prepare for the moments that matter most. Every day we are each given exactly 86,400 seconds. How we choose to invest them ultimately determines our outcomes in business, leadership, and life.
