Bonnie James, President of Advanced Reading Concepts

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Bonnie is president and one of the founders of Advanced Reading Concepts, a Columbus-based corporation founded in 1977 that combined the best available strategies for increasing reading speed and comprehension along with proven accelerated learning techniques. 

A lively presenter, Ms. James gives speeches and seminars on reading and speed-reading for associations' local, regional and national conferences such as the Ohio Pharmacy Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio Health Information Management Association, the South Dakota Pharmacy Association, the Cincinnati Health Alliance, the Ohio Society of CPAs and Women in Government.  One of a handful of trainers for Dun & Bradstreet, she has conducted speed-reading seminars throughout the U.S. with a course she designed for them.  She was listed in Business First’s “Who’s Who in Business Education and Training.”  Bonnie was selected to be the Micro Entrepreneur of the Year by the Increase Community Development Corporation in Columbus, Ohio and was also a finalist for the TopCat award for women in technology by TechColumbus a technology advocacy organization in Columbus. Bonnie was awarded the Career Achievement Award and a Distinguished Alumni Award by the College of Education and Human Ecology at the Ohio State University.  She also received the Small Business Person of the Year by the Grandview (OH) Chamber of Commerce.
