Dr. Tina Balderrama Kubicek is founder and principal of Tina
B. Kubicek & Associates, a Texas based consulting firm that
focuses on leadership, cultural diversity and national and international
business development. She helps organizations address the growth
of the Hispanic American and Asian American market, the organizations’
diversity in leadership and management, and their outreach efforts
to the emerging markets. As an author, businesswoman, consultant,
educator and speaker she presents, consults and conducts training
on the topics of The Changing Face of Leadership (her forthcoming
book), cultural diversity, communication, and motivation (Postcards
to Women, November 2006).
She is former Professional Development Director for the Austin-based
non-profit Texas Association of REALTORS®. In this position,
Dr. Kubicek directed adult learning and continuing education programming
for one of the largest statewide membership organizations in the
country, serving more than 80,000 real estate professionals throughout
Texas. She was responsible for establishing Texas Realtors®
University which developed and managed the Graduate Realtor®
Institute, Mandatory Continuing Education, United Texas: Housing
Initiatives that Work, Texas Realtors® Leadership Program,
Quick Start, MCE Online and Diversity course offerings. Dr. Kubicek
served as the International Liaison to Mexico promoting opportunities
for international business between Texas and Mexico.
She has more than twenty-five years of experience as a professional
in the business, communication, education, and human resource
areas of three Fortune 500 Companies. Her corporate experience
includes 3M Austin Center where she established the Staffing and
the Training and Development Departments; 3M Brownwood Human Resources;
Exxon Company, USA where she developed the training and publicity
for their nationwide telecommunications network; and GTE of the
Southwest where she was a Communication Advisor to business customers
in Texas and Oklahoma.
Dr. Kubicek has a degree in Business Administration and Physical
Education and Health from Howard Payne University, a M.Ed. and
Ph.D. in Adult Human Resource Development with a minor in Communication
from the University of Texas at Austin. Her dissertation
topic "Women in Middle Management: The impact of an
involuntary job change" researched women in layoff situations.
She is a graduate of Leadership America, Leadership Texas and
Leadership Austin. Dr. Kubicek has served on numerous boards and
held leadership positions in organizations including Leadership
Austin, Toastmasters International, Women & Their Work, The
Lone Star Girl Scout Council, Huston-Tillotson College Development
Council, The American Association of University Women, and The
Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce.
She serves as 2007-2008 Chair of The Women's Chamber of Commerce
of Texas. Dr. Kubicek is a charter member of the Women's
Museum in Dallas, TX. She serves on the City of Austin Downtown
Commission and was elected Secretary for 2006-07. She is also
a member of The National Speakers Association. Dr. Kubicek has
presented at state, national and international conferences.
