| In high school as a freshman she was placed on the "All Star Cast" in the regional meet in the University Interscholastic League contest in Lubbock, Texas and received a scholarship to Texas Tech University. In her junior year at regional meet she won the best actress award and proceeded to Austin where her performance won her best actress at state where she earned a scholarship to the University of Texas. When
the long-running play "Texas" was begun at the Amp hi Theatre in the Palo Duro canyon near Amarillo, Texas she was asked to Portray a character in the cast, but at the time she had small children and it necessitated her into turning down the role.However, when she and her family moved to Port Lavaca, Texas she became involved in little Theatre both as actress and director.
After a move to victoria, a few miles away, she remained active in the Victoria Community Theatre and the Victoria Summer Musical Repertoire Company in the same capacity.
