Prior to joining IPS-Sendero, Orlando worked for sixteen years
in a Pennsylvania-based regional multi-bank holding company. As
the bank’s Chief Executive Officer for seven years, Orlando
created and led the execution of a strategic plan that resulted
in significant improvements in retail bank profitability, new
customer acquisition, targeted market share growth, and unprecedented
customer satisfaction. He designed and implemented an effective
customer relationship management and profitability system as well
as a balanced scorecard. Orlando was actively involved in directing
all aspects of shareholder relations, sales and marketing, finance
and investment, quality management, retail banking, and employee
training.
In his twelve years as Chief Financial Officer, Orlando was responsible
for all financial and shareholder reporting, cost accounting,
investment and treasury functions, asset/liability management,
strategic and capital planning, and mergers and acquisitions.
The asset/liability and investment policies, processes,and system
that he designed were described by an independent analyst as “one
of five of the corporation’s core competencies”. Orlando’s
written annual reports won numerous national awards.
Before joining the banking industry, Orlando worked as a Senior
Accountant and Auditor for the Pittsburgh banking practice of
Price Waterhouse for six years. His specialty was auditing, Securities
and Exchange Reporting, and mergers and acquisition consulting
for community and regional banks.
A top rated speaker, Orlando has written and delivered speeches
and workshops to US and international financial institution audiences.
He is a frequent speaker for the Association for Management Information
in Financial Services, Bank Administration Institute, Financial
Managers Society, Institute Bank—Bank of Malaysia, Taiwan
Academy of Banking and Finance, and C.P.A., banking, and credit
union societies. He is a member of the Financial Managers Society,
the Association for Management Information in Financial Services
and the National Speakers Association.
Orlando is a 1981 honors graduate of Bucknell University with
a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. In 1989 Orlando completed
the Duke University Fuqua School of Business Bank Executive Program.
