"The Importance of Attitude in the Aging Process"

Objectives:

* Identify ways we can improve our attitude and discover the importance humor brings to our lives.
* Understand the importance of a positive attitude and how it affects our overall health.
* Discuss ways to help those under our care get involved in living life fully.
* Develop a personalized approach for adding renewed strength and vitality to our lives-not for a day, or a week, but for a lifetime.

Summary of Content:

We will be looking at ten things we can do on a consistent basis that will improve our daily lives. If we can maintain a positive attitude in a negative world, we will be victorious in whatever we set out to accomplish for our lives. We cannot give to others what we do not possess ourselves, therefore in finding the right path for ourselves; we can then share what we know to be true with others in our care. We will look at things we can do to encourage our elders to get involved wherever they are, whether it is in a "retirement community," or an "assisted living" facility. Being involved is the key to living a happy, fulfilled life. I have personal experiences with the elderly and know first hand the importance of being involved where you are to have a sense of purpose and to be making a difference in your life and the lives of others.

NOTE: This workshop can also be a keynote or breakout session.

“Communicating with Confidence.”

Objectives:

• Looking at the different ways we communicate every day.

• Looking at the benefits of communicating well.

• Looking at ways to “listen” until you really “hear.”

• Looking at ways to criticize without crippling.

Summary of Content:

We will be looking at the objectives listed above and learning to establish a track record for truth. We will be looking at traits for leadership and the differences we observe in negative and positive people and how they affect our communication. We communicate every day, and our objective is to make sure what we communicate is fully understood by our listeners.
