1. Assessing
individuals for employment,
promotion and/or major changes
in job requirements. This involves
effectively managing the change
processes, determining job
requirements, assessing candidates
on the critical factors related to
effectively doing a job, or
helping a successful candidate
“get up and running on the job.”
2. Troubleshooting
and/or developing key
individuals and groups such as
boards, leadership teams,
project teams, etc. Determining why
something went wrong and how to
fix it, or advising how to make
something work well from the start
and supporting its implementation
are key elements of this work.
Further examples include
structuring a board to improve
performance, working individually
with team leaders as they
acclimate to their roles, or
configuring project teams.
3. Building
organizations. As “the architect”
of people processes I work with
the client to design performance
management systems that will
enhance productivity. Examples
include: helping a company
transition from a traditional
management hierarchy to project
teams; assisting in the choice and
performance of team leaders; and
developing the necessary
coordination between teams and
support services.
