| Author and motivational speaker Dianne Durante is a licensed marriage and family therapist and nationally certified counselor with over 30 years experience as an educator and counselor. As director of Anchor Counseling and
Training Center, she works with individual adults, adolescents and children, as well as with families. Ms. Durante uses an eclectic approach in her counseling. Trained in Family Systems Theory, she embraces behavioral, cognitive, narrative and psychoeducational techniques to create an individualized treatment plan for her clients. A caring nature and commitment to her profession make her a sought after therapist. | Ms. Durante has written grants and educational programs for the displaced homemaker and teenage parents. Her most recent grant (1997-1998) from the Women's Fund of the Community Foundation is for a unique self-esteem program, "Circle of Hearts: Women mentoring Women". An innovative educator, Ms. Durante has created and conducted parent education programs for the traditional and blended family, as well as support groups for divorced parents and children
of divorce. She has taught psychology and sociology courses for Barry University on Women, Aging Death and Love. Ms. Durante has hosted her own radio talk show, Personal Perspectives on WNOG-1270 AM (1991-1992) | In addition to her private practice, Ms. Durante is a frequent speaker to business, civic and professional groups. Her book and trademark lecture program, "It's In The Bag"
™ helps people learn, laugh and remember the basics of living a healthy, happy life. Her customized lecture programs include such topics as: Increasing Your Business and Energizing Your Relationships, Aging Gracefully, Creative Problem Solving, Weaving Wellness, Birth Order and How It Affects Our Relationships, Positive Parenting, Stress
Management, and Self-Esteem. | Ms. Durante completed her Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. She earned her M.Ed. in Counseling Education at William Patterson College in Wayne, New Jersey and her BS in EducationfPsychology from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. She has completed advanced training in Women, Family Systems
and Alcohol Studies from Rutgers/UMD New Jersey, as well as training in Ericksonian Hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. As part of her continuing education in working with affluent families on estate planning issues, Durante attended the 1999 AAMFT Winter Institute on Family Owned Business and Corporate Consulting. Ms Durante is a member of the National Speakers Association, the Florida Speakers Association as well as the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the
American Counseling Association and the American Orthopsychiatric Association. For her extensive work with individuals, families and groups, and her voluntary services during times of national tragedy, Ms. Durante was named Mental Health Professional of the Year by the Mental Health Association of Collier County. |
