Bio:

Following undergraduate study at The University of North Carolina, Bruce went to the Lackland Air Force Base in Texas where it was determined that his knee injuries from football negated his intention to enter pre flight training. After a battery of examinations Bruce was selected to join the security service and was dispatched to Syracuse University for an intensive education in Russian language, history and culture. It was during this year that he received our nation’s highest security clearance and was assigned to highly classified intelligence duty.

Upon completion of his military obligation Bruce embarked on a career in organization management and become legislative affairs director for the Chamber of Commerce in Middletown, Ohio. He continued his education during the summer months and graduated from the Institute for Organization Management at The University of Georgia. Subsequently he was appointed CEO of two other chambers of commerce in Ohio and during this time was appointed by the Governor to the Ohio Development Team and advisory board to the branch colleges of Ohio University.

Following the defeat of Barry Goldwater, Bruce was asked to come to Washington where he headed The United Republicans of America and was instrumental in electing business oriented candidates to congress from districts in fifteen states. Encouraged by his friends to enter the political arena himself Bruce was elected magistrate in his native Virginia and during his term of office was appointed to the International Narcotic Officers Association, the Committee of Judges for the American Federation of Police and the Board of Directors of the National Council on Dangerous Drugs.

The following Thirty years were devoted to association management and he became a Certified Association Executive (CAE), A Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and A Certified Exposition Manager (CEM). Bruce served as CEO of major trade associations in New Jersey, New York, and California and was awarded the first place management achievement award for member services from the American society of Association Executives.

Additionally he has created and presented management training programs for the Rochester Institute of Technology in Labor Relations, The State University of New York in Human Relations, the American Society of Association Executives in meeting and convention management and the National Association of Exposition Managers in convention production.
